It’s amazing how a chance meeting can sometimes prove really fruitful. I had one of these meetings last year – and this is the result.
I first met Mark face to face at tech.ed the other year and we’ve kept in b log contact from time to time since then. Well Mark was looking at a gap in the market so to speak and noticed that there are no user groups dedicated to Active Directory – and in his opinion, AD is a totally core skill you need to have a well managed enterprise.
So we met up for a coffee the other month, and I introduced him to a few folks and the result is – the Active Directory User Group – and their first meeting is next week. John Craddock will be talking at the first event.
Here’s the information from their website:
The UK Active Directory User Group is very excited to announce that its inaugural meeting will be on the evening of 23rd October 2008 at Microsoft's London offices in Cardinal Place.
The internationally recognised Active Directory expert John Craddock ably assisted by Sally Storey will be talking about Active Directory on Windows Server 2008 and Read Only Domain Controllers (RODC's), the session will be full of demonstrations and attendee interaction. Places are limited so please register early to avoid disappointment.
There’s some techy stuff on the forums there too – so it’s certainly worth registering and having a look at what Mark has coming up…
So go along and find out all that stuff you didn’t know about AD in your organisation – and get your questions answered by an expert…
