He is the co-author of jQuery in Action and the upcoming Rails 3 in Action, and is a contributor to Ruby in Practice. He spends most of his time hacking on Rails, but also on other Ruby community projects, like Rubinius and Datamapper.

There is plenty of parking, lots of chairs and the Broad Ripple Brewpub is conveniently right across the street. This is the first solo meeting with me as the manager, so we'll begin with introductions and questions/suggestions about IndyFlash.

ChicagoRuby: Downtown - GeneXus Demo - ChicagoRuby.org - Chicago Ruby on Rails

Developer/instructor Daniel Coellar will demonstrate GeneXus, an IDE for Ruby and other languages, by building a small invoicing application from scratch in Ruby. He will also show how the product uses patterns to audit any table at the field level without changing or having access to the original source. The demo will be followed by a discussion with Rick Zachmann, a developer who has used the product to solve real-world business problems.
