What's good in .NET 4 and Visual Studio 2010
Alex Mackey will go through some of the new features in the future release of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0.
"We will take a look at some of the great new features available in Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4. I am currently writing “Beginning .NET 4.0 with supporting technologies” for Apress and will share my discoveries & thoughts so far. The contents of this session will be partly dependent on what Microsoft release in the coming months but will probably include the more finished areas such as Azure, Language enhancements and Parallel programming."
In his free time Alex is writing “Beginning .NET 4.0 with supporting technologies” for Apress and runs the Surrey .NET user group DevEvening.co.uk. He has been developing web applications since the days of classic ASP & VB6 and has over 8 years experience of working with Microsoft development technologies. He works as a senior analyst programmer and has been involved with the creation and development of web based health care applications in the UK, Ireland and Middle East.
His blog is available at http://www.simpleisbest.co.uk/
Mobile Web 2.0
Matt Lacey will then discuss Mobile web:
"The future of the web is about more than the latest fancy widgets and advanced browser functionality. The popularity of accessing the web when mobile is increasing and provides unique benefits. Worldwide, it already has more users than the non-mobile version, has more money made from it and offers the opportunity to build stronger and longer lasting relationships with the people who visit sites. This session will look at what you need to do to extend your non-mobile site to provide a valuable and engaging experience to mobile users."
Matt has been developing software for the last ten years. In that time he has worked with multiple languages, platforms and companies. He currently works for a company specialising in Mobile solutions. He is passionate about mobile computing and providing excellent user experiences. He blogs at http://blog.mrlacey.co.uk/
Please arrive from 6.00pm for a prompt 6.30pm start.
