To start out let me say that I'm not one for big introductions, or long winded discussions about myself. I want to get to the point of the sessions as quickly as possible. Part of the reason for creating this meetup was to have less presentations and more coding.
Each session will entail a meet and greet session where I'll introduce myself and the other organizers, briefly. The first few sessions we'll also introduce the concept of the sessions, and what we aim to accomplish.
Then we'll get to the coding. I'd like to start with a 30 minute problem solving session. So please, bring your problem code, or any code that maybe you'd like normalized or reworked to be more efficient. We'll try and tackle it as a group.
Next I'd like to really hit the coding spot by grouping people into teams (hopefully into groups of diverse coders). I'll introduce a problem and let the teams have at trying to solve it with their code. The teams can use any means necessary to solve the issue. We'll try and have some professionals walking around to assist with any issues, or offer ideas, or even learn if they don't know.
After we got it pretty much figured out, we'll spend some time discussing how each time came to their solution, why, why not, where can it be improved, and what else can be done.
Finally, we'll end with a presentation or two, hopefully from some knowledgeable people in their field. We can discuss anything about the web and it's future, past, whatever, as long as it's interesting.
So people, come, don't be shy. For the record, I have a lot to learn in coding, so don't be afraid if you're not that great yet. The meeting is for you. And if you're already the bomb, come be challenged, or just show off. BUT NO FLAMING!
HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!
