John and Jean Carbone opened their first restaurant - the Villa Capri - in January of 1958 on Hillsborough Street. In 1967, they moved it to the Ridgewood Shopping Center (where Catherine has celebrated many birthdays), and remained there until 1984, when their daughter, Maria (who Catherine met at a Psychology Conference when they were both attending two different colleges in Raleigh), and her husband, Michael House, partnered with Maria's parents to create Casa Carbone, on Glenwood Avenue.
Did You Know? Michael and Maria were high school sweethearts. They've known each other since they were 11 years old! John's family is from Naples, Italy... Jean's is from Palermo, Sicily.

NOTE: When we have a large group, we are usually seated at the round tables in the back room, because round tables facilitate conversation, but it can get noisy if Casa Carbone has another party in the room.

If each person would contribute $5 once a year, that would cover the bi-annual meetup fees (total $140) and other expenses.
