GlEcomSummitobal Ecommerce touched USD 700B last year! The number of people who shop online keeps increasing, with 38% buying at least once per month. And with increasing popularity of Smartphones, Tablets & Ultrabooks, consumers have the power to buy what they want and when they want it.

This in turn adds more pressure on retailers: there are multiple channels to sell goods, and it’s vital to be up to speed in order to keep your customers and attract the new ones. Is your business up to speed?

TechMeetups organises its first EcomSummit on 15 March 2012 in London and on 20 March 2012 in New York. This is an opportunity to learn about ecommerce from startup companies working on innovative ecommerce solutions, and, of course, develop a deeper understanding from keynote speakers.

Agenda

6pm Doors open

6:30pm Adrian Blair, Chief Operating Officer, Just Eat

"Just Eat: disrupting an ancient industry at global scale"

 -  the Just Eat story so far

- what are the biggest challenges to scaling

- why have we been successful

7pm John Agnes, Director, Foodity

7:30pm Group Activity
After the scheduled presentations, we will pose two questions which attendees will be asked to brainstorm and present an answer to. One question will be from a London-based TechMeetups member and the other from an NYSA member. The purpose of this exercise is to crowdsource the response to two pertinent questions for those in the E-commerce sphere and to share / compare our responses with members in London and vise-versa.

If you are part of an eCommerce business which has a challenge to solve and want to set the audience a group activity to come up with potential solutions, get in touch with me at olga[at]techmeetups[dot]com and we’ll talk.
