After the release of Ionic 1, it quickly became the most popular framework for building cross-platform mobile apps with familiar web technologies. Enabling developers to use Angular, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML was a tremendous leap forward in productivity. Ionic 2 is the next evolution of this incredibly popular cross-platform mobile framework. Ionic 2 enables you to leverage Angular 2 and TypeScript to build apps, while adding even more features to the already robust Ionic framework, including significant performance improvements. In this demo-heavy session we’ll cover several topics including Ionic’s navigation framework, Ionic components, working with HTTP, as well as leveraging native device capabilities such as the camera, geolocation, barcode scanner, and more! Bio:Steve Michelotti is a Microsoft ASP.NET MVP and a contributing author for Pluralsight training. In addition, Steve is a frequent presenter at developer user groups, conferences, and Code Camps along the East Coast and holds the MCSD, MCPD, and MCT certifications. Steve is an avid blogger (http://stevemichelotti.com), has contributed articles to Visual Studio Magazine, and his work on high performance web solutions was featured on Channel 9. Currently he is serving as an Architect/Developer for Applied Information Sciences (AIS) where he has lead numerous projects including a multi-year effort to modernize the business systems of a major insurance carrier. Previously he was the Chief Technologist at e.magination where he consulted with clients including Advertising.com/AOL where he was the Tech Lead for one of the highest volume .NET applications in the world.
