Microsoft offers a host of different ways to provide REST based services to client applications. The three most common are WCF REST, MVC, and ASP.NET based listeners in IIS 7.0. Scott starts out by implementing a service using IIS 7.0 handlers, then reimplements the service in MVC and finally in WCF REST. At the end of the talk, we’ll go over what is different and when each technique makes sense. Scott co-authored Effective REST Services via .NET and draws on that book for this talk.
