Join the VP and General Manager of Manpower Professional, Sheldon Schur, as he reveals findings of their latest survey that shows talent shortages continue despite the economic downturn. Top sought after positions include IT professionals, engineers, teachers, and nurses. Schur will provide insights into the challenges facing companies in the United States to fill qualified IT positions and future hiring trends.

The event will also feature Ray and Barney Group Director, Renee Wiggins, and a HR representative from a notable Central Ohio company (TBA). They will discuss techniques for Central Ohio companies to attract and retain top IT talent, as well as offer advice to job seekers to maximize their search efforts and get noticed.

Manpower found that 30 percent of employers worldwide are struggling to find qualified job candidates especially IT professionals, skilled tradespeople, sales representatives, and technicians. The employment services company surveyed nearly 39,000 employers across 33 countries and territories to gauge employers' ability to find the talent they need.

Even with unemployment at or near record levels in many communities, Manpower's research highlights the problem many employers are having finding individuals with the right combination of job-specific skills, experience, training and soft skills.

The U.S. findings are part of a Manpower global study that surveyed more than 39,000 employers across 33 countries and territories in January 2009. Manpower surveyed more than 2,000 U.S. employers in the fourth annual survey to determine which positions employers are having difficulty filling this year.
