TechColumbus' business incubator was just named the [url=http://www.entrepreneur.com/magazine/entrepreneursstartupsmagazine/2009/june/202260.html][color=darkred]#5 top incubators for start-up companies in the U.S. [/url][/color] by the National Business Incubator Association (NBIA). Please join us at the Columbus American Marketing Association's July luncheon as TechColumbus' Chris Anderson and Stefphanie Harper discuss our TechStart program for entrepreneurs, on-site business incubator, and marketing outreach efforts.
The event will also feature Patrick Murphy, founder of [url=http://brandthunder.com/][color=darkred]Brand Thunder.[/url][/color] Brand Thunder is a TechColumbus incubator company and new portfolio client. Mr. Murphy will offer a first-hand look at the challenges of marketing a start-up company.
Breaking into the market for any new product or service is the culmination of years of market research, planning, development and testing; doing it in this economy is even harder.
* How are the hottest new tech companies developing their businesses?
* What are the best practices for bringing a company from infancy to profitability?
* Which companies are on the verge of making it big?

Speaker Details:
Chris Anderson, Startup Specialist Christopher Anderson has a proven track record of helping start-up companies get off on the right foot, connecting them with the right resources and guiding their formation efforts. Chris is a business development specialist on TechColumbus TechStart team, serving businesses and entrepreneurs in Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hocking, Perry, Pickaway and Ross counties. Chris has been with the TechStart program almost since its inception. Over the past year, Chris participated in all the community outreach events held in each of the 15 counties comprising TechStarts service area. As such he has had an exciting front-row seat in witnessing the breadth of innovation across Central Ohio.
Chris was also instrumental in organizingColumbus Startup Weekends 1 and 2 which brought together programmers, business leaders, consultants and advisors into a unique setting in which new companies were developed. Before joining TechColumbus in 2007, Chris was a project administrator with the Ohio Department of Development where he was responsible for managing a number of programs including the Ohio Technology Investment Tax Credit program and the Ohio Research and Commercialization Grant. Chris earned his bachelors degree in from Miami University with a minor in entrepreneurship.
Stefphanie Harper, Director of Venture Development Outreach TechColumbus is a multi-faceted, ever-evolving organization whose primary mission it is to connect technology entrepreneurs with any number of services and resources available through private and government sponsored initiatives.
Stefphanie joined the TechColumbus team in May 2007. Initially charged with promoting the services and resources of TechStart, the Central Ohio Entrepreneurial Signature Program, Stefphanie traveled to the15 counties within the TechStart service area. During this time she met with innovators, service organizations, and business and government leaders and gained a unique perspective on the needs of entrepreneurs in communities both large and small.
