About this Meetup Group

Is there anybody (else) out there?

In addition to all the usual iPhone chitchat, our August 11th Meetup will go beyond Apple to address a question of interest to every developer and publisher:

“What about all those other mobile phones out there?”

We’ll be joined by Patrick Mork, VP of marketing for GetJar.com, the world’s most popular mobile application distribution and developer community (a mega retailer of ringtones, games and video content, to you and me).

Getjar.com has over 200,000 developer and beta-tester accounts and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about what users want from their mobile entertainment. Patrick will talk us through Getjar’s business and offering some useful tips on its popular search terms. If we’re lucky he might even tell us about some popular search terms that are currently overlooked by Getjar's developers and publishers…

We’ll also welcome Sanjeet Matharu from Vodafone. Sanjeet is Principal Manager for Developer Marketing and is working on Vodafone’s widget program. He’ll present the case for making Voda-widget versions of iPhone apps. He’ll also talk about Vodafone’s “Summer of Widgets” competition.

We're limited to 55 places only, and they go fast so get your "Yes" RSVPs in quick.

Hope to see you on the 11th!

Jason

p.s. Thanks to our friends at Mobile Monday for providing the inspiration for this month’s speakers, and congrats to Meetup members Malcolm Barclay, Jason Swain and Kostas Eleftheriou for their super coverage in today’s edition of “The London Paper” freesheet.
