The Windows Communication Foundation (formerly codenamed "Indigo") is a part of WinFX, the next generation of the .NET framework.
WCF is a set of .NET technologies for building and running connected systems built around a Web Services architecture - WCF brings together existing communication technologies into a coherent model, implements the latest WS-* standards, and allows you to build in SOA from the ground up.
