The Digital City project will focus on three areas: workforce development, creating on-line interactive multimedia and building an open platform of shared servers and open data for all to utilize. Marc Canter (original founder of Macromedia) will be leading the effort, teaching a course at CWRU and forming a 'Regional Alliance' to help fund and foster matching 'haves' to 'have nots'. The idea is to use social media to get ex-auto workers, welfare moms, senior level nurses and a wide range of trainees 'comfortable' using computers - and then intern them to experts in a wide range of job skills. All jobs in the future will require basic tech skills and the Digital City project will open source the software necessary to get trainees comfortable - around the world. The Pilot in here in Ohio so come and meet Marc and see how you can help make this happen!

About Marc: Marc Canter is a 25+ year software veteran who co-founded MacroMind in 1984.

MacroMind became Macromedia in 1991, the company that offers "Flash". Marc is a leader in the "open web" and co-author of "Bill of Rights for users of Social Media".

Long based in Silicon Valley, Marc has recently moved to Ohio and will be teaching ""How to build a Digital City" at CWRU.
