Social media has moved beyond a discussion to practical application. As a result of implementation, companies are starting to experience a shift in how they operate their businesses. You have a great opportunity to learn from these real-life “shifts” in traditional methods by engaging with our panel of social media practitioners.

Perhaps you’ve wondered about some of the metamorphoses companies are experiencing in their customer service, internal communications, recruiting, sales, marketing and fund-raising functions. This is your opportunity to find out first-hand the social communication plans, methods of engagement, lessons learned and the impact on a company’s operations.

Plan to join us for the first Social Media SIG on September 2 to discuss and get answers to these questions and more. Our presenters represent diversity in the consumer sectors served and their use of social media. Ed Billmaier, Sr. Director of Relationship and Interactive Marketing for the Scotts Miracle Gro Company will share the company’s journey to incorporate social media as a tool for PR, branding and marketing, brand and customer monitoring, as well as internal communications. Julie Spicer, Relationship Manager at Quick Solutions will focus on changes to the recruiting and sales processes. To bring the non-profit perspective, Christina Christian, Digital Marketing Manager at Mid Ohio Foodbank, will share their exploration in using social media to fund-raise and engage volunteers. After a brief presentation by each practitioner, you will have opportunities to ask about your own burning questions.
