While many of our members are Android gurus, there are quite a few of us who yet have to take the plunge and get our hands dirty with Android development.
Marko Gargenta, who is responsible for Android training at Marakana (and happens to be my brother), offered to show us how to build a real-world (not HelloWorld) Android application from scratch in around two hours.
You can either sit back, relax, and enjoy the show... or you can take a more active role, and follow along, building your own version of the app. If you opt for the latter, you need to bring your own laptop - already configured with the Android SDK (including Eclipse)- though there may be some classroom workstations for our use.
For those of you that are already proficient with Android, you may still want to swing by, share your wisdom with the fellow attendees, and network with others in the Android community.
Marakana will provide drinks and pizzas for this event and we'll give a way some free Android books.
Because the space is limited, make sure you RSVP sooner... rather than later if you want to reserve your seat.
See you on Oct 8th.
