Topics will include: What is the state of the Agile approach today? What are the new, upcoming trends in the Agile community? What's really going on from the leadership and project management perspectives? What can we do now so that Agile continues to take root and flourish in the enterprise? How will we encourage self-organizing behaviors and promote creativity (as opposed to rigidity and excess structure)? Where does project management stop and iteration management begin?
Park in the new parking garage (entrance on Front St) and enter the main entrance of the building (not through the pedestrian bridge).
Heres a little bit more about our exciting speakers for the evening:
Matt Van Vleet holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from Ohio University. He joined Pillar in 2005 as Vice President of Fulfillment for the Ohio Valley Region after years of notable accomplishments. Matt has developed a testing practice focused on functional test automation and application performance management. Mr. Van Vleet founded a company, Solstice Software, that wrote Automated Unit and Integration Testing Products and continues to push the envelope of what is possible with test automation. Within Pillar he is one of the key innovators around their approach, Speed To Value, focusing on the critical areas of project management practices, requirements management, and test driven development. Due to Matts skills and experience, he has developed Pillars Practice Management model that maximizes the impact of productivity by enforcing those proven concepts and training.
John Huston is an experienced IT leader, generalist and Agilist with over 20 years experience in the field. He has led teams in Architecture, Application Development, Quality, Operations/Infrastructure, and IT Transformation to name a handful of roles. He has hands-on experience building and leading Agile teams since 2001 and has led the effort to deploy Agile methods at the enterprise level, both as a corporate IT Director and now as a consultant for Pillar Technology. John is currently working on assignment at Nationwide Insurance.
Daryl Kulak is an Agile author, speaker, and coach with Pillar Technology Group, based in Columbus, Ohio. He is the co-author of "Agile in the Bloodstream: Creating Change-Ready Teams using the Power of Systems Thinking," that will be published in the Spring of 2010. The book outlines how the key to Agile success, including scalability and sustainability, depends more on how a team grows its people than in the "best practices" it executes.
