GeekUp Sheffield takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. It's a grass-roots knowledge sharing and networking social for folks involved or interested in all forms of technology and creative media.

This month - Rocket Science - Matthew White reveals how easy it is to launch your own rocket - Best Things In Life … Free? - Chris Warburton cuts through the hype and myth behind free and open source software - Technology Paths: Chartered Members - Keith Richardson (IET) and Colin Smythe (BCS) reveal the career value of joining a professional body - Creative Bandwidth - Ian Wild wants you to imagine … a dedicated broadband network connecting national cultural venues. What would you do with it?

What is GeekUp? GeekUp is a community of tech-minded folk from the North of England. Our socials take place once a month in a lot of places and are always a lively place to share ideas and spread a little knowledge.
