A gathering of people passionate about learning through collaboration. Attendees will work in small teams to code projects ideas from the team members or from a suggested list of projects. This will not be a lecture style event or a traditional classroom with a set curriculum and learning materials. We want you to ask questions, hack away and have fun.
WHAT IF I'VE NEVER SEEN COLDFUSION? Our goal is to introduce ColdFusion to those who are new to the language. We want programmers with little or no ColdFusion experience, graphic designers and new programmers who may have little to no programming experience but are excited to learn, ask questions and bang out a little code.
WHAT IF I'VE BEEN USING COLDFUSION FOR YEARS? We want you to join us. You can register as an attendee and spend the day playing with all the cool new features in ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusionBuilder. How often do you get to code next to Sean Corfield? If you want to get more involved, then register as a "mentor" for the day. You can help attendees setup their laptops and then lead or float among projects helping out. We also hope mentors will jump on the microphone and share tips, tricks with the audience throughout the day.
BYOL (Bring your own laptop) We have instructions to download and install ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder Beta prior to the event (http://www.cfdevcamp.org) click on Pre-Event. We will have mentors at the event an hour before it begins to assist configuring ColdFusion. Again no ColdFusion experience is required.
AGENDA 9:30 to 10:30 - Welcome, Laptop Setup assistance, Coffee and Donuts. 10:30 to 11:00 - Keynote (State of ColdFusion) 11:00 to 6:00 - ColdFusion - What's possible (demos of ColdFusion Tags) Audience suggestions welcome. 11:00 to 6:00 - Break into small teams and begin projects. 12:00 pm - lunch provided as Code Jam continues 6:00 to 7:00 - Share Projects 7:00 to 7:30 - Raffle and close
