NYEBN "Small Is the New Big" Networking Reception
- Date
- 12-13 Nov 2009 (Add to calendar) GMT
- Venue
- (Exact location not available) , New York, US
- Cost
- 5.0 USD
NYEBNers are going to Broadway Comedy Club! You may have heard about this place featuring stand-up comics from David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, etc., but what you don't know perhaps is that they also have great networking venues. Why do we call it "Small is the New Big" Networking Reception? Read more to find out....[:)]
1). What is the theme?
Business oriented. Let's keep it focused on the "Entrepreneur Topic" this time. Please make sure you have a business, represent an industry, or at least have some entrepreneurial ideas to share with your fellow NYEBNers at this meeting.
2) How is it scheduled?
6 - 7 pm: Open Networking 7 - 8 pm: 30-second Pitch Opportunities for Everybody 8 - 9:30 pm: Focused Networking
3) How Much Does It Cost?
$5 if you prepay, or $10 at the entry
4) What Do We Have for You?
This time, we will have all name tags pre-printed and have them arranged alphabetically at the door. The name tag will show your names and the industry that you represent. So please tell us your first name and your industry when you RSVP. Also we will get some cheese and light desserts for everybody (smile)
5) Why "Small is the New Big?"
It originally comes from Seth Godin's book "Small is the New Big," meaning we can profit the most only if we focus on the niche areas in this high tech era. We use it here because we are going from 400 people rooftop party back to 100 people traditional networking reception. Again, a small amount of people allows us to focus better, not mention to the 30-second pitch opportunity for everybody.
6) Extra note
Personally I want to thank those of you who have offered your sincere suggestions which we have implemented to improve the quality of this event. So this time, there is no music involved. The setup is intended for you to focus on your conversations. I will make sure we have sufficient light for everybody as well. Any other questions? Feel free to contact me or any of the assistant organizers.
