We are honored and privileged to have Shawn Wildermuth as our guest speaker at the next Silverlight Meetup on Wednesday, November 18th. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:30 PM at our usual place, 5 Seasons Brewing on Roswell Road. As at the last meeting, we will be in the cellar (where the pool tables normally are). During the presentation, you will be able to order from 5 Seasons' excellent selection of food and beverages. We will have the space until 8, after which the cellar converts back into a normal bar and we may continue our conversations over even more beer.

Shawn Wildermuth is a renowned speaker on a variety of technical subjects ranging from data access to Silverlight to Oslo. He has been an MVP for nine years, runs his own successful training company, Agilitrain, and is currently touring Europe in a series of speaking engagements.

Flush from the success of his European tour, Shawn will be speaking to us on Building Line-of-Business Applications with Silverlight. This is often considered a holy grail of Silverlight development and is expected to be one of the growing niche technical skills of 2010. It is also a topic over which Brad Abrams has been spilling much ink on his blog and we are fortunate to have Shawn available to provide the straight scoop on the subject.

There will be no Silverlight Meetup in December, in consideration of the holidays, but we will start up again in January of 2010 with exciting new content. Having already covered SL architecture with Rik Robinson and LOB apps with Shawn Wildermuth, we will concentrate much more heavily on UX in 2010 in order to help everyone build a more compelling and exciting web experience. As SL 4.0 comes closer, we will also be covering the new platform enhancements as they are announced.

Please RSVP for the Wednesday, November 18th meeting as soon as possible so we can make the appropriate arrangements. If you have any special needs or questions concerning the group, do not hesitate to contact James Ashley or Roger Peters.
