Hello fellow geeks!

November's meetup is taking a break from the latest PHP trend. Jason Leveille has stepped up to the mic to present HTML5.

HTML5 is here and it is something we should be paying attention to. Though it is convenient to write off HTML5 as something that is in our distant future, thanks to the flurry of browser development activity over the last few years, there are many parts of HTML5 we can use today. During this presentation, I will provide a range of examples demonstrating how you can slowly introduce HTML5 to your work today. This talk will cover HTML tags, the GeoLocation API, Graphics (Canvas and SVG), Video, and Storage (AppCache and Database). As much as possible, I will provide real and contrived examples. This presentation will not provide a detailed analysis of each topic, but rather a high level overview. If you have any questions beforehand, feel free to contact me via gmail (json.leveille@).
