Thanks to everyone who came out to the October meeting, thanks to Zend for presenting, and thanks to Derek Gallo for filling in for me again while I was out of town at php CodeWorks in Atlanta. If you've never been to a professional conference before, particularly one for PHP, then I highly recommend it: php CodeWorks was a blast and very affordable.

Well, that doesn't do you much good, though, does it? Yeah, I know, so I'll be presenting on the topics I brought back from the con, who was there, and what I learned. We'll still have time for the "Ask-an-Expert" panel, and we may hear Derek's presentation on scaling and performance yet. Consider this month a discounted ticket to CodeWorks. ;)

We'll be meeting at the clubhouse at Camden apartments again this month in downtown Orlando courtesy of Demetrius Ford, our resident resident. The address is:

688 N Orange Ave Orlando, FL 32801 (map)

You can park in the parking lot in front of the complex and in the adjacent lot, just not in the garage. The clubhouse is inside the main complex, secured by a maglock, and it's super sweet. We'll try to leave someone outside to lead people in, but try to come earlier rather than later. If you get locked out, just ping one of us by cell phone or Twitter; I'll try to keep an eye on ye ole @orlandophp account.

Looking forward to another great meeting this month,

David @ OrlandoPHP.org

Hi! The last meet-up was great! Let's have another one and keep the momentum going! Topic: Managing Jobs and Productivity! Description: How do you get into 'the zone' and stay there? How do you handle scheduling, client management, distractions, last minute requests, etc. This isn't a code-focussed meeting per say, although I'm sure we'll bust out some source eventually. Extras: [list]*Last week Jayse shared his on-the-fly thumbnail generator.
