Make Mine Mobile!

I'm totally psyched about getting a smartphone this summer. So, I immediately started looking into what it would take to make mobile-friendly websites.

Come along as I survey the mobile landscape, and explain the limits and potentials of this hot topic.

You don't have to own a smartphone to get a lot out of this month's exciting presentation.

In addition, I'll be giving a brief demo of Balsamiq, a tool for prototyping user interfaces and discussing why this tool ROCKS. The folks at Balsamiq have even donated a copy of the desktop version of Balsamiq Mockups which we will be raffling off as a door prize -- A $79 VALUE!

Gary Levitt (of Mad Mimi) contacted Dave Hoover (of Obtiva) in early 2007 about building an email marketing web site in Ruby on Rails. In subsequent months and years, Gary and Dave collaborated almost daily in order to improve, scale, fix, and market Mad Mimi into one of the leading email marketing sites on the web. Dave will share his biggest lessons from this project. Most of the lessons are not technical, though Ruby and Rails certainly facilitated them.
