In this Meetup, we will discuss the use of semantic technologies in history and genealogy research. Brian Eubanks will demonstrate features of some existing web resources (footnote.com and ancestry.com), and explore how the Semantic Web would improve them. We will look at ontologies and data sets that can be applied now, and explore what is still missing. Brian will also discuss his ongoing work on the History and Genealogy Semantics Working Group.
