Good Day, Fellow Apache-LAMP Developers,

We have another excellent presentation for you on the 1st Monday of March, 2010:
Stephanie Smith, a well known developer in the DFW Community who is always so "head down in her work", she can only be bothered to watch TV for one hour a month...has volunteered to fit us into her busy schedule to talk about Drupal - the Content Management System (CMS)!

Stephanie is known by her peers to be a tireless, detail-oriented, leading-edge developer...and almost always "leading the pack"! In the past, she lectured in the local Web Community frequently, but has taken what some what call a "sabbatical" from the speaking circuit...and the rest of us would call, "time to put her head down and work her tail off".

Back to Drupal...Drupal is probably the most popular content management system in larger PHP shops, especially in the start-up industry in the San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley area (probably the most prolific Web incubator in the World...another opinion from your Organizer, Tish Wood). Yes, Joomla is quickly becoming the most pervasive CMS in smaller shops, but the BIG BOYS often choose Drupal. Drupal was recently selected by President Obama and TEAM for use on the http://www.whitehouse... site.

I have heard nothing but praise for this package...except that in this industry where we have all become "OO-crazed", Drupal is written functionally and is not truly Object-Oriented (oh, how could they?)! Well, come and find out "how they could" from Stephanie, she is excited to tell you about it...and has read a chapter in your honor! biggrin

6:30-7:00 pm - Networking and Arrival
7:00-8:15 pm - Stephanie Smith presents Drupal
8:15-8:30 pm - Stephanie calls for Q&A (times approximate)

We will be following our trademark courtesy policy developed at our peer group in Silicon Valley, California (which meets at Sun Microsystems' Santa Clara Campus). We will allow our speaker to present without interruption...until she calls for questions in the Q&A period. This courtesy allows our speaker to get the largest amount of information out to the greatest number of our members. Please also be considerate: while we hope this presentation helps you in your project, this is not a free consultation for same. Please ask one question and allow others to get their's answered...before asking a second.

You can find out more about Drupal or download it at: http://drupal.org/....

You can find a map of the Campus with the Science Building is the pink building with an 'X' on it on the top-left/ northwest corner of the map. You will see it. It is distinctive in that the building is 3-story (larger than the others)...and has other than 90 degree-angle architecture.

Here is a map to the map to the campus.

We hope to see you there!
