Our third event of the year is as strong as ever!
First up George Adamson  will be walking us through a fast paced introduction to jQuery and all it's cross-browser loveliness! Topics will include the CSS selector syntax, binding, handling events, effects, plugins and ajax! A subject of particular interest to those developers looking to work on new ASP.Net projects now that jQuery comes bundled with Visual Studio!
This will be followed by Phil Pursglove, here to introduce us to Velocity, Microsoft's new distributed caching offering. In this session we'll look at why you might want a distributed cache, how to configure your applications (and servers!) to use it, and how to manage it when it goes live.
Agenda:
18:00 - 18:30 Meet and Greet/Networking
18:30 - 19:30Â An Introduction to jQuery
19:30 - 20:15 Pizza!
20:15 - 21:15 A developer's guide to Velocity
21:15 Â Wrap-up!
Do keep an eye out on our website (http://edgeug.net) for details of these as soon as they become available.
I hope you've all managed to sign up for UK Tech Days, it certainly looks like a great event and the Edge User Group will certainly be involved in one way or another. Keep an eye on http://edgeug.net for details!Â
