Advanced Photo Editing in Gimp
After you've gotten your feet wet with simple editing tasks in Gimp, you'll probably want to see how far the rabbit hole goes and try out some of the more advanced features. We'll cover some of the more advanced concepts you'll need to accomplish home photo editing projects that go past the basics including using selections, layers, masks, text treatments, and more.

He generally sticks to web development for his day job, however, he also does web design and development on the side using a multitude of technologies and open source tools including Gimp. He is also a fanatic about music and movie production and especially animation. This leads him to do video and audio production work on the side as well using his all FOSS home production studio.

Basic Photo Editing in Gimp
Gimp is a powerful raster graphics package (similar to Photoshop) and getting started can be a little overwhelming. However, with a point in the right direction you can learn how to take advantage of some of the powerful, but simple features to edit you're digital photos including cropping and rotation, auto and manual color manipulation, red-eye removal, blemish touch up, and more.
