Edge UG has teamed up with UK TechDays and DevExpress to host a user group event at Microsoft's premier UK conference in 2010. This event will be held on Tuesday April 13th at the same Fulham Broadway venue as the main TechDays conference. So if you are attending the conference that day (and you'd be crazy not to) then why not stick around for another couple of hours and listen to Oliver Sturm (C# MVP) discuss Functional Programming on .Net. That said, attending the conference before hand is not required.

Session Details:

F# is a new language in Visual Studio 2010, a hybrid that crosses over from the well-known object oriented .NET world into that of functional programming. It makes parallel programming easier, they say - and it does, in addition to all the other cool language structures it offers. But the idea of functional programming doesn't depend on the language alone, and good old C# can be used to implement many of the same ideas. In this presentation, Oliver gives an overview of functional aspects in both languages, explaining F# as he goes along and conjuring up much mind-bending syntax in C#. Don't miss it!

More About Oliver Sturm:

Oliver Sturm is an experienced software architect, developer, trainer and author with 20 years' experience in the software industry. He works as Director of Quality for DevExpress and is well known as a speaker at events of all sizes, all around the world. He's currently working on a book for Wrox, titled "Functional Programming in C#". Programming languages and methodologies are one of his favorite topics and for several years now, he has been a Microsoft C# MVP.

As an added bonus DevExpress have kindly provided 2 copies off their fantastic product CodeRush with Refactor! Pro to give away on top of our usual SWAG giveaway.
