We launch our inaugral meet-up at the Skills Matter eXchange with two great talks by Naoufel El Bachir and Phil Trelford.
Could you also please register your details with Skills Matter here: http://skillsmatter.c...
Naoufel will be discussing the design of a numerical optimisation library in F#, illustrating how F# allows one to express mathematical problems in a very natural way. He will discuss the design of an abstract interface, then look in some detail at the implementation of 1 or 2 algorithms, including the easy parallelization of some algorithms.
This will be followed by a talk by Phil, who will share his real world experience of applying F# to a recent project he has been working on: integrating IM into a Trading Platform. Technologies covered will include F# Agents, F# Asynchronous Workflows, WPF, XMPP and BDD. Expect to see plenty of code.
Depending on numbers, we'll head to a nearby pub afterwards.
