NYPC VB Sig Presents: Everything that is new in Visual Studio 2010 (almost) Monday May 3rd 6:15 pm at Microsoft Come and join us for an evening of exciting demos and Q&A with Chris Dias, Group Program Manager for Visual Studio 2010. In this session, Chris will [attempt to] cover everything that is new in Visual Studio 2010. We will see the latest VB language features along with the new User Interface that finally lets you use all of those monitors. We will write code that takes advantage of all those cores and we will create Ribbons in Office 2010 to help you manage your inbox. We will see how Silverlight can be used as for creating rich desktop applications that light up on Windows 7. Finally, as if that wasn't enough, we will get a sneak peek at soon to be released add-ons to Visual Studio which take developer productivity to the new highs. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about the future of Visual Studio and Visual Basic, straight from Redmond Chris Dias is a Group Program Manager for Visual Studio. In this role, Chris is responsible for the Visual Studio development experiences for creating solutions using VB, VC#, and F#. Chris' team is also responsible for building a rich and vibrant Ecosystem around VS through the Visual Studio Industry Partner program. Chris has been with Microsoft for more than 16 years, all the while working on Developer Tools. He started out answering the phones for Visual Basic 3.0 and 4.0, specializing in data access technologies. From there, Chris joined the product team as a Program Manager for Visual Basic 5.0 and since then has worked on almost every feature of VB and VS. Chris was the Group Program Manager for Visual Basic .NET 2002, 2003, and 2005, the Project Manager for VS2005, and the Group Program Manager for the Visual Studio Platform and Ecosystem in VS2008 and VS2010. Chris lives in Redmond, WA with his wife and 2 children.
