What is GeekUp? GeekUp is a community of web designers, web developers, and other tech-minded folk from the North. Our socials take place once a month in Chester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Preston and Manchester and are always a lively place to share ideas and spread a little knowledge.

Who can attend GeekUp? While the focus for GeekUp is predominately web related anybody involved in the technology industry is more than welcome to attend a GeekUp. The monthly events are free, we just ask that you buy your own beer.

Opportunity for C something coder? Hi. Sorry I'm miles away so can't drink gallons of beer with you, but your organisation seems to be something that may help me (and others) move forward with our skills. I have been a coder for some 25 years, and am a recent victim of the credit crunch. Just before becoming poorer than a church mouse I designed and installed a "machine" for the NHS that got it's blessing and other hospitals are asking for it now. There is every possibility that physio units and gyms all over W Europe would also be interested. Is there somebody in your organisation (C based) who may like to chance his arm and give up a little coding time in exchange for a legitimate chunk of the prize monies? Look forward to hearing from you. wincoders@gmx.com

    Northern Digitals December Meetup

    37km away in Manchester

While it finds its feet this meetup will follow the same informal format, of creatives meeting up at The Northern for a drink and meeting new like minded creatives. These networking talks will then hopefully lead to some great work and partnerships. I'm looking at moving Northern Digitals on little with the addition of guest talks by people from different creative fields. More news on this to come, when I've found a venue etc. Any recommendations on this would be great.
