There are huge gains to be had from building applications out of components, but most existing component frameworks are too difficult to understand and too intrusive to have gained much traction. Let me take you on a trip to an alternative universe of application architecture where Dependency Injection and IoC containers finally make the dream of building 'Lego software' a reality.

Mike Hadlow is a Brighton based freelance .NET developer. He's been building enterprise applications since 1997, and since 2002 with .NET.
