dependent drop down lists

    Hi All,

This is my first post to the website, and I'm hoping to get some advice on creating several dependent drop down lists in excel.

Using the "offset" function on the worksheets I'm able to utilise data validation lists to create these dependent lists, but I have repeats in the lists and I've been unsuccessful to find a workaround to eliminate them.

Ideally, the drop down menu in cell(a1) would base off a text database list, followed by cell(b1) that would retrieve text from a separate database list that depends on the first one, and from here cell (c1) would follow a similar pattern to another database list.

An example would be the following:

    a za ma
    a za mb
    a za mc
    a zb md
    a zb me
    a zb mf
    b zc mg
    b zc mh
    b zc mi
    b zd mj
    b zd mk
    b zd ml

From my conclusion, it'd be best to do this in VBA which I'm slowly learning. Would anyone have a recommendation on where to start?

     Thank you,

    Rory
