Authentication form in C#

  Hello,

  I am a C# and programming novice.

  Please could someone tell me how to get an authentication form to load before the main program loads to prevent users from accessing the program.

  I would like it to pop up on top of the main program and remain until proper verification of user

  OR

  point me in the right direction. Any good book recommendations please.
