  HI all I have been tasked with an intranet development, and being new to the whole web development arena, I am a bit at a loss with repards to costing the project. The application will very likely be VB, ASP.NET based. The application will be required to retrieve data from a large flat table sone 230 columns in size, on an Oracle database; legacy database design therefore no scope for normalisation of the data :-( This means, that the client software will have to deal with the shortcomings of the data content. The application involves only data retrieval (i.e. Query only) with output requirement to screen or MS Excel.
