how to play and convert movies in vb.net

    hello, i have to design a player in vb.net which supports all file formats even .doc,.pdf.. and convert it into mpg or any movie format,and finally play converted movies. for ex: i have one ppt file name "abc.ppt" another one "xyz.doc" and "awq.mpg" ,"pop.swf" how to execute all formats over one player. what we have to do to design such concept in vb.net
