In this episode, Rob, Nick, and Brett catch up with SharePoint MVP, author, and consultant Rob Bogue to talk about SharePoint Governance, Engagement, and Taxonomy. Thanks to Rob Bogue for taking some time out of his very busy schedule to talk to us this week!
We announced our LOGO CONTEST on this show. Basically, we need a logo and want to open the contest up to our listeners and the community. We are currently accepting your logo ideas (you can submit more than one) and the contest will end on October 3, 2008. The prize is an MSDN Premium Subscription, which includes Visual Studio Team Suite!!!
We had such a great interview that we decided to break it up into two parts. Below is an outline of the discussion in Part 1:
- Rob describes his role in the launch of the Microsoft SharePoint Developer site (http://www.mssharepointdeveloper.com)
- What does SharePoint Goverance mean?
- Why is governance so difficult?
- What are the impacts of not having a governance plan?
- Governance with Project and Operational Management
This week was a sad week for the SharePoint community as we lost one of our own. Patrick Tisseghem passed away this week of heart failure while teaching a class in Sweden. We will be releasing an interview with Patrick that was captured by German SharePoint MVP Michael Greth as a tribute to our friend.
