This session will be an overview of PowerPivot, Excel Services and PerformancePoint Services (PPS) and include demonstrations of each. PowerPivot is a self-service tool geared for end-users to build dashboards. It can load massive amounts of data into Excel (over 100,000,000 rows) to be sorted and filtered in milliseconds and then use that data to build dashboards in SharePoint using Excel Services.
PerformancePoint Services (PPS) is used to build and host dashboards and scorecards in SharePoint. Dashboards in PPS provide end-users with a highly interactive facility to explore and analyze data.
At the end of the session, attendees should have a solid understanding of the features of PowerPivot and PerformancePoint, including when to use each and how to use both together.
