Microsoft to use UMT

This article was originally published in VSJ, which is now part of Developer Fusion.
Microsoft has completed the acquisition of the UMT project management consultancy, and has revealed some of the details of how it will use the imported technology.

In particular, the next generation of Microsoft’s Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Solution, code-named Office Project “12”, will incorporate UMT-derived technologies to improve management and optimisation of work though an “integrated enterprise project and portfolio management approach”. Office Visio “12” will attempt to make it easier to visualise, analyse and communicate complex information, processes and systems. Integration with SharePoint 12 is intended to provide a complete approach to design and real time management of complex projects.
