Handling of formulae in Excel 2002 has been improved considerably. Ranges are highlighted better, and parameters for functions are now provided in the form of a tooltip as in VB. In the event of an error in your formula, you can step through the various sections using the 'Show Calculation Steps' command, giving you the ability to easily track down where the error is occuring. A Watch Window (now, where have I heard of that before...) has been included, allowing you to monitor changes in formulae, and their current values.

The web features have been enhanced, although they remain severely under-used by most people. Copying data from a website enables a Web Query which can refresh the data whenever you open the workbook. HTML formatting preservation is improved, and Excel can now load and save XML workbooks.
Lastly, selected ranges can now be sent straight via email, and the contents of cells can be played back to you to verify entered data (although this is only available in US English). Ranges of cells can now be protected, and find and replace now supports regular expressions and formatting.
