Access & Powerpoint
Microsoft Access
Little has changed in Microsoft Access, other than getting a new file format. (Though, fortunately, this time you can open and save in Access 2000 format without any trouble). There is a grand total of 3 task panes, and 0 smart tags.
The new Clipboard task pane - capacity has now been expanded to 20 items.
Support for multiple undo/redo has been added, and SubForms now appear live at design time. Spell checker support is also improved.... and that's about it!
PowerPoint
PowerPoint, like Word and Excel can now take advantage of the new Diagrams (including Organisational Chart, Cycle Diagram, Venn Diagram, Radial Diagram etc) and place them into your presentations. You can now password protect, encrypt and digitally sign your PowerPoint documents - a feature that has been a long time in coming. PowerPoint also gains the same Send for Review functionality as Word, a life saver when working in a team environment. To aid planning, the outline now show thumbnails of your slides, rather than text outlines.
