London Scala Users' Group:Testing times with Scala: A TDD journey using anti-xml - London, United Kingdom

A client asked Ben Parker to convert one XML format to another. Ben was relegated to Java during the day and, as he was missing his lovely lightweight TDD Scala coding, he didnt even consider XSLT. Ben simply added anti-xml to his sbt build and got stuck in. This talk is the journey Ben went through over 3 days test-driving this work using Specs2. In particular, Ben will focus on how he went about testing and the issues he faced in asserting the expected xml.

Although Scala makes various things easier to implement and reduces the need to use bytecode enhancement at runtime, it's the type-safe templates that will have the biggest impact for most users.
