Please join us at our monthly evening meeting where our members help one another improve each other's enterprise, projects, computers etc.Though we're primarily a Linux group, all operating systems are welcome (even that Wimpdows one) as our members have Macs, iPads, iPhones, and SmartPhones as well as Linux Desktops/Laptops - so we're a great Q & A resource..Lost yet another venue - Looking for a new location...Any suggestions

Monthly discussion group on MySQL, and open source projects in general.This month, Mark Atwood, an Open Source Advocate from Red Hat, will demonstrate building MySQL-backed web applications on OpenShift.Platform-as-a-service is a "cloudy" service that automates away the "AMP" of LAMP. OpenShift is Red Hat's Platform-as-a-Service, supporting Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, Node.js, JavaEE, and Linux binaries, and MongoDB, Postgres, and of course, MySQL.

It looks like these field trips are becoming a regular thing!Make:Seattle's next event will be hacking the ZipIt Z2 (a discontinued wireless messaging product in a clamshell formfactor, with 312mhz ARM, backlit keyboard, WiFi, and 2.8" QVGA screen) to run embedded Linux! These are being offered for a pretty incredible price ($12) - hard to pass up!With a few small accessories (an SD card and a breakout cable)

Andrew and Brandon suggested this concept at a discussion meeting some time ago and we are implementing it in February.Since some of the presenters will require the use of projected images, we'll meet in the Training Room at Discovery Learning. What/Why: SCALE 10x, the 10th Annual Souther California Linux Expo will return to the LAX Hilton on January 20-22, 2012. SCALE is the premier community run Linux / Open Source conference. Writing Linux Device Drivers - Meeting 2 of 2 - Cupertino, United States

A hands-on training class broken into two sessions. The class covers a wide variety of topics in Linux Device Driver development. The sessions will involve lecture and answering of questions. Attendees will be expected to perform the lab exercises, which consists of a variety of Linux device driver lab programming assignments, outside of class time. The instructor will be available during subsequent hours to answer questions via email and via an online forum dedicated to the class.
