Creating a VB6 application to automatically backup a database

Hi all!. I need help on creating an app that will automatically schedule or execute a snapshot replication and backup my database from a network. Would that be possible on VB6? I need this because I can't wait for all the user to finish their transaction so I can replicate each night. It would help me a lot to just schedule it during the night and leave my PC open. Any advice or sample code? my server is sql 2000
