Best technology to develope windows bases application (Thick client)

    HI all,

    I have a requirment to develop an application that will be mainly a windows based application (a thick client). Can anyone suggest me the best technology if possible in java or any other combination of java and any other.?

    It wont be a pure web based application, but it may be required to run in an intranet. Please suggest.
