Compilers

Hi! I'm considering learning Java and wondering which compiler to use. I know that there is a free one from Sun, but Metrowerks and Borland (and a few others) have their own. Are the retail ones really better?

    Thanks for your opinions.

Personally I stick with the Sun compiler that comes with the JDE for the simple reason that as Sun develop the language, their compiler is bound to be the most reliable when it comes to new features added in.

Probably a very naieve way of looking at it, but shrugs

download the Java SDK from here and use the compiler which comes with it...
