MediaPlayer.Duration?

  For some reason I cannot get the duration of a song using mediaplayer. I have the song opened (mediaplayer.open text1.text) which is definetly right because it plays, but if I do txtsongtime.text = mediaplayer.duration it doesnt seem to work, although it works in other peoples code.
