Network programming...

All my programming in the past has been web/database apps...

Now I would like to write a program that listens on a local lan for multicast packets, then redirects them to a unicast address.

For example it would listen for multicast traffic 224.0.1.59:2069 and resend the packets to 192.168.0.49:2069

This second ipaddress 192... is over a VPN, and without expensive routers, multicast traffic is not forwarded...

Looking for pointers on where to start, and if anyone knows of any projects that are similar that I can get the code for...

    Thanks in advance..
