upgrade to sql server 2000 ???

    Dear friend
    I have a trouble . I made my program using windows server 2000 and sql server 7. they're working good. but when i upgrade to sql server 2000, i have an error with windows NT authentication, I have create the user and manage the role, but the same error  occurs. are there any different between sql server 7 and 2000 version to manage the user and the role ??

    Please give the exact error message.... You probably need to enable sql server authentication or something...

    I have tried that two ways , that's Directly Upgrade to sql server 2000 (I followed the release notes, instruction to upgrade), and the second I uninstall the sql server 7 first then install the sql server 2000, and both...have the same error. I have heard about stored procedure In sql server that's called sp_updates, but I can find it ? probably any one know where ? .. But thanks any way, I do apriciate your help

    What i normally do is, get the error message, goto MS knowledgebase site at http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/c.asp?fr=0&SD=GN&LN=EN-US and specifiy the SQL 2000 do a search.


    Otherwise, goto one of these sites and find some helps:
