MCrypt on Win32 platform

Does anyone know how to get Mcrypt working on windows?
    I'm running Win2000 server, apache 1.3.22 and php 4.1.1

I've looked on the MCrypt website, and the PHP website, and neither are very useful.

Taking a quick look at the MCrypt website, first of all you'll need the Win32 port. When going to that directory, I'm told "The win32 is not available. Use the cygwin compiler to compile."... so first of all, you're going to have to download the unix version, along with cygwin ( www.cygwin.com ). Then compile it.... I can't quite remember how to install a module in php, but I assume it was by editing the php.ini file in the windows/system directory.

I found an older version of MCrypt that had already been ported to win32, but when i try and load it in php.ini i get an error "libmcrypt.dll could not be found in [extension folder]".
